Our Story
The Harborfields High School robotics club was founded in 2014 by a group of aspiring student engineers. Since then, the club has grown from 15 members to 50 and remains the only engineering activity in the school. Our club provides opportunities for a wide range of students with varying talents and skills. Members have the opportunity to hone their skills in building, programming, fabrication, design, and web development. Additionally, since our club is student run, there are many leadership opportunities.

What we Do
All three of our teams compete in FIRST Tech challenge, which requires lots of time developing robots. All of our robots are original designs. This requires each team to plan the robot's structure and functions in-depth before building. Oftentimes, this means 3D printing custom pieces after designing them in a CAD software. Programming is done in Java, and is just as involved of a process. At the end of the day, everything gets documented in our engineering notebooks.
We also spend lots of time doing other things such as outreach and fundraising. |
What is FIRST Tech Challenge?
The FIRST Tech Challenge, or FTC, is a high school robotics league that requires team members to use their programming, building, and teamwork skills to create the best robot to complete a challenge. This year's competition is Skystone. Check out the challenge video! ->
